Week of Prayer

Celebrating Our Week of Prayer at Dudley House School

This week, our school community came together for an inspiring ‘Week of Prayer‘, led by Pastor David and Pastor Steven. Through engaging activities and practical illustrations, our pupils explored the beauty and diversity of prayer, guided by the teachings of Jesus.

In a colourful demonstration using Skittles, pupils learned how our individual prayers are beautiful, much like the vibrant sweets, they merge and connect us to God and He hears them no matter where we are.

One highlight was the creative “prayer sandwich,” where students layered their prayers with gratitude, hope, and kindness. We reflected on how Jesus provided us with a format for prayer through the Lord’s Prayer, offering a foundation that can be built upon with our personal expressions of faith and gratitude. Our students, representing a tapestry of faiths including Christianity, Hinduism and Islam, discovered the different elements that can enrich their personal prayer experiences.

This morning, we used our five fingers to help us with ideas for our prayers. We concluded the week by writing our heartfelt prayers, each one a testament to the unity and respect we hold for all beliefs.

We are proud to nurture an environment where every pupil’s voice is heard and valued, celebrating the diversity that makes our school community so special.
