Paper Making

On Tuesday evening, science club made recycled paper.
They chopped some scraps of different types of paper up into small pieces, before adding a couple of handfuls and some water into the blender. Once the paper pulp was ready, it was poured into a washing up bowl along with some more water. A mould and deckle was used to scoop some pulp from the bowl. This was drained thoroughly. The excess water was soaked up with a sponge before the paper was left to dry. Most of the children thoroughly enjoyed this hands on experience, but a couple preferred to watch.
