Bisi Badminton

A team from Dudley House School played badminton alongside other schools in Grantham tonight. They polished up their skills in a range of activities designed to improve them. Well done team for doing brilliantly. Thank you for Inspire + Ambassadors for organising a good fun event.

Golden Book Achievers

Congratulations to the children who were in the Golden Book today. Our child from class 1 worked very hard in phonics last week and had created some amazing Brain builder homework on giants. The child from class 2 put in super effort and achievement in her maths lessons last week. One of the children from class 3 had been creative with his writing of a Roman myth narrative and the other child had shown good concentration in his independent maths work. Finally, the child from class 4 had chosen to do extra homework relating to her topic in history.

Class 4 Assembly

During Class 4’s assembly this morning, the class shared what they had learnt about growth mindsets as well as other aspects of what they had studied this term. They explained how living things are classified, tested the school’s knowledge of bird names using pictures of birds they had taken during the Schools Big Bird Watch, showed water colours they had painted linked to their Mayan topic, and shared what they had learnt about the Lord’s Prayer. A very informative assembly that children, parents and friends of the school enjoyed.

The children finished by singing a version of The Lord’s Prayer by Bethany Lizama, the children’s pastor at Eastern Assembly of God in Baltimore.

Golden Book Achievers

Well done to all the children in today’s Golden Book assembly. The children from class 3 were rewarded for their excellent descriptive writing about the Chinese Emperor, and the children from class 4 were rewarded for their enthusiasm in science.

Congratulations also to the children who received certificates in today’s Golden Book assembly.

Chinese New Year

Class 1 and 2 have been learning about Chinese New Year. We had great fun trying Chinese food, using chop sticks and making lanterns and masks. This year is the Year of the Rooster and we practised ordinal numbers as we heard the Animal Race Chinese New Year story.

Bronze Ambassadors attend training

Look at our smart Inspire+ Bronze Ambassadors after attending their second meeting. Their role is to promote and complete the legacy challenge, encouraging healthy lifestyles and active bodies. The children will be planning a Legacy Tour assembly and promoting the Legacy challenge after Easter.

Pirates Ahoy!

Year 2 joined Miss White for their sculpture lesson. After creating a wire frame, last week they then used Modroc to create a model pirate. Today, they used paint to add colour to their creations.

Big School Bird Watch

This afternoon, class 4 took part in the annual RSPB Big School Birdwatch. For an hour, we counted how many birds were seen from our classroom window. We saw: blue tits, great tits, coal tits, long-tailed tits, blackbirds, robins, wood pigeons, dunnocks, collared doves, house sparrows and magpies.

Congratulations

Congratulations to one of our year 6 boys who has been awarded The Eldridge Cup for the under elevens track and field in the Lincolnshire Athletics League. He also received a bronze medal for the under elevens indoor male athlete and a silver medal for the under elevens boys 80 metres and 150 metres, both from Grantham Athletics Club.

We are very proud of him as a school.

Golden Book Achievers

Well done to all our children in this week’s Golden Book. In class one, the children had completed amazing work on freezing and melting. Our class 2 child was congratulated for consistently doing her very best. One child in class 3 has been working hard to improve his maths, and another child for making an extra effort in her writing of a recount, using a dictation app to help. In class 4, children were chosen for their excellent debating skills following a class debate.
