Painting in the Park

The sun shone as Key Stage 2 walked to Wyndham Park, yesterday afternoon, for their final painting session of the term. After studying a range of techniques used by famous artists, they used watercolour to create master pieces of their own. All of their paintings are displayed in the computer suite – do come and have a look!

Signs of Spring

Children in Class 1 and 2 enjoyed walking to the park, looking for evidence that spring has finally arrived. They also had good fun playing in the play park together.

Languages Day

All the children were engaged in a variety of practical activities to promote the learning of Latvian, Hungarian, German and Dutch, supported by several of our bilingual parents. Mrs Brown started the afternoon by teaching everyone how to sign  the song, ‘Colours of the Rainbow’ using sign language, after which children gathered in small teams to complete 4 activities.

The afternoon was concluded with a game where children were able to show off their learning.

The school was very grateful to all the bilingual parents who gave up their time to support the learning of other languages this term.

Bags for Life

We’ve been thinking about reducing plastic pollution.  One way to help our environment is to promote the use of a ‘Bag for Life’. Today we’ve entered a competition to design a ‘Bag for Life’ for Aldi that promotes eating fresh fruit and vegetables.  Have a look at our designs.

Shelter Building

Today, in their OAA session, KS2 worked as a team to create a shelter for their group, using materials provided, under a timescale of 15 minutes. I’m not sure whether they would want to sleep in them outdoors, but they managed the task successfully.
