All about me in Hazel Class

The Nursery and reception children in Hazel class are learning ‘All about me’.

They have been drawing and painting their faces and also used different vegetables to make faces on pizza. They had great fun completing the activity and as you can see were very creative.

God made us unique

In Birch Class, we used the books, Only One You, and You Be You, to talk about how God made us all unique and gave us different gifts. The children designed and painted their own unique pebble.

Bible Presentations

Today, children in KS2 were given their own Bible and marked their first promise.

Oak Class saves eggs

This term Oak Class are learning about forces.  In science this week, they thought about the effects of gravity.  In pairs they completed the egg challenge – protecting a raw egg from cracking from a two metre drop.  They were given a budget, imaginary money and asked to shop for resources set out in the classroom. Surprisingly, when tested, two out of three eggs were protected! Well done Oaks!

 

Bastille Day

The whole school had a great time celebrating Bastille Day. They tried different foods, sang French songs and made French crafts.

Bastille Feast Preparations

This morning Class 3 were set the task of shopping for our Bastille Day celebrations tomorrow.

 

Bags for Life

KS2 have been busy designing and making bags for life. We think they look very stylish!

Music Recital

Every child took part in this mornings music recital, either performing items learnt as a class or playing individual pieces learnt in music lessons this term.

Well done to all of the chisdren who took part in this morning’s music recital. We have some very talented children.

Science Investigation

This morning, as part of their learning in science, class 2 were using an identification chart to try and identify trees in the school grounds.

Gravity Fields Flowers

This afternoon, Key Stage 1 and 2 took part in a creative session to make flowers ready for the Gravity Fields Festival in the autumn. Thank you to artist Angela Thorpe, who came in and led the session.
