Energy Saving

To reinforce learning about the importance of energy saving, Dudley House had a ‘No Power’ morning today. The children attended a special assembly, including a Christingle making session and worked collaboratively making decorations for the hall. After break Oak class made music with hand chimes, Birch class had fun with practical maths and Hazel class sorted textures and shiny items.

Pupils Create Energy Games

Oak class were asked to create a game to play with their classmates that would help consolidate their energy saving knowledge. The class have had a great time this afternoon playing board games and answering quiz questions created on the Scratch platform.

 

Birthday Cakes

The Nursery and Reception children in Hazel class, have made and decorated cakes to celebrate a fictional birthday. They wrote invitations, designed wrapping paper and wrapped presents, made birthday cards as well as attending the party and eating their cakes.

 

Shopping Expedition

Hazel class have visited Morrisons’ this morning. The Reception and Nursery children had a look around the shop and each child had an item to buy. We are planning on making cakes for a character in a story we know, so watch out for pictures of our lovely cakes, and if you are a member of the class you will have a cake to try at home. Thank you to the Morrisons staff who were very obliging and all the shoppers in Morrisons this morning who gave us space and time. Next week we will sorting our own food to put on our own supermarket shelves!

Switch Off Fortnight

Today Dudley House began ‘Switch Off Fortnight’. Children enjoyed learning how to save energy during assembly today and will be telling you how to save energy at home too!

Children in Need

This year we held a non-uniform day, bring and buy sale and coffee morning to raise funds for Children in Need. The children especially enjoyed the bring and buy sale and cakes at the end of the morning.

Thank you to everyone for supporting. Through your generosity we raised £143.27 for Children in Need. Thank you so much.

 

Cafe Leo Visit

The nursery and reception children in Hazel class visited Café Leo this morning. The children used the menu to order their own treat and drink and paid for their food themselves.
They looked at a real café and are going to add some more things to our café in school. We are going to label and price our cakes and put a number on our table.
Thank you to all the staff at Café Leo who made us very welcome.

 

Shadow Puppet Stories

Children enjoyed making shadow puppets and creating their own stories in art club today.
