Maths Medal Winners

Gold, silver and bronze medals were presented in assembly today to the children who gained the highest number of points in the Maths Challenge on Wednesday. Well done to all of them.
Certificates were also presented to all the children who took part in the different maths activities on World Maths Day.

Book Cake Designs

Thank you to everyone for the time and effort you have put into designing a cake based on a book for Oak Class to make next week. It was so difficult to judge. The winning design will be on display at parents’ evening next week and announced to the children tomorrow. They were all fantastic ideas and we wish we could make everyone!

 

 

World Book Day celebrations!

Dudley House was full of adventure stories about pirates today.  At the start of the day,  a simple story was shared with the children about Pirate Pete and Princess Polly.  The characters had to improve their manners, before they ate pizza and biscuits. The morning was filled with the sound of lots of polite children, saying please and thank you, so they all became pirates at lunchtime and were given to their own pizza and biscuit treat!

 

Maths Tea Party

The Nursery and Reception children in Hazel class have enjoyed celebrating Maths Day. They have been practising doubling numbers as well as sharing too. At the animal tea party the children had to make sure that they all had the same number of goodies.

 

Coin Snake

All the children worked together to create a snake with coins this afternoon. Birch class then sorted and counted the value of the coins. The money raised will go towards playground markings and buying new outdoor play resources.

Maths Challenge

Children in Birch and Oak class took part in a number bond challenge this morning. Children will be presented with medals and certificates on Friday.

 

Pancake Races

All the children competed in traditional pancake races today, in house teams, with Ladybird scoring the most points. Afterwards children enjoyed tucking in to pancakes.

 

Colsterworth Performing Arts Festival

Today children from Dudley House took part in the Colsterworth Performing Arts Festival.
The children sang two songs beautifully and were awarded 1st place.
Birch class recited a poem about feeling sick and came 2nd in their class. Oak class performed TS Elliot’s poem Macavity, the Mystery Cat and were awarded 3rd place.
Well done to everyone.

 

Tag Rugby on a sunny afternoon

Making the most of the sunny afternoon, Oak Class enjoyed their first tag rugby lesson of the term.  Using a variety of drills, they practised throwing and catching accurately and working together as a team.
