3 Little Pigs

The nursery and reception children in Hazel class have been learning about the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ this week. They also have been for a walk around our school, looking at the different sorts of houses and noticing what they have been built from.

 

Golden Book Achievers

Well done to all the children who were in the Golden Book today for excellent attitudes to learning. Congratulations also to those who received silver and gold certificates.

Games to improve comprehension

Oak class are playing games to improve their comprehension skills.

 

Water Cycle Investigation

Today Oak Class are using their observation skills to see the water cycle in action. They added water and ice to the simulator and have made a prediction that they will see precipitation over the hills. They think that tributaries will flow into the river, making it larger, before the water flows to the sea.

 

River System Models

Today Oak Class began their geography for the term and make models of a river sytem.

 

Investigating Shadows

Children in Oak class were investigating the height of shadows under differing conditions in our science lesson and created temporary shadow art installations.

 

Fairground Rides

This term Oak Class worked on designing and making moving fairground rides. All their designs were full of fun and unique!

Golden Book Achievers

Well done to all the children who were in the Golden Book today. Congratulations also to those who received Reading Eggs and Silver certificates for collecting 40 stickers.

Theatre Visit to see Skellig

Pupils in Oak Class have been engrossed in the book ‘Skellig’ this week, which has stimulated writing, science, art work as well as generating lots of discussion around various issues bought out in the story.
The highlight of the week was watching Skellig bought to life at Nottingham Playhouse Theatre on Wednesday afternoon. The set was amazing and children finally discovered how the story ended.
