Golden Book Achievers

Well done to all the children who were in the Golden Book on Friday and also to those who received certificates. We are very proud of you all.

Summer Fayre Winners

Children who won various competitions and challenges at the Summer Fayre were announced and collected their prizes in assembly this morning. Well done to everyone.

 

Summer Fayre

Thank you to everyone who supported the Summer Fayre last night despite the awful rain! It was lovely to see the children having fun participating in a variety of games and activities such as: face painting, decorating mugs, a golf competition, skittles, hook a duck, find a fossil, mask decorating, table-tennis, boules challenge, etc. and parents relaxing and catching up with one another. Thank you for all the donations and help from parents and staff in organising a wonderful evening.
You will be delighted to know that we raised ÂŁ208.30

 

Science Club Experiments

Today science club enjoyed activities involving static electricity, water tension and memory games. They even made a brain!

 

Garden Week

This week the children’s learning has had a garden focus and they have done some amazing work.
They also had a non-uniform day to raise money for the GROW, hospital gardens project. ÂŁ60 was collected for this worthy cause.
GROW is a charity that has been set up to improve Lincolnshire Hospital gardens. The first project is creating a garden outside Ward 6 at Grantham Hospital.
The children have been set a challenge to create other designs for future hospital garden projects.

Golden Book Achievers

This week all the children in the golden book were praised for working hard to improve their writing and super attitudes to learning. Well done to them all.
Congratulations also to those children who received a gold certificate for collecting 60 stickers.

All Stars Cricket

Today, Key Stage 1 took part in an All Stars Cricket festival. They played a number of different games to help improve their cricket skills of bowling, batting, catching and fielding. A good time was had by all the children.

 

GardenIng Club

After school, children in gardening club harvested some of the vegetables they had planted last year!!
They started preparing the ground ready to sow new seeds.

Fix it Duck

Hazel Class have been reading ‘Fix it Duck’ this week and have been to look at the ducks on the River Witham.
The Nursery and Reception children enjoyed watching the ducks swimming on the river. We saw both male and female ducks.

Riverbank Exploration

Oak Class had a wonderful time this afternoon walking along the riverbank. They measured the speed of flow at various locations, created field sketches and looked at wildlife. We saw a muntjac deer, a rat and loads of ducks with their babies. They also took note of how visitors use the river walk and were impressed by the number of people who were out and about. They particularly enjoyed watching the model boats powering along in Wyndham Park.
