Thanks to all the children (and parents) who made such an effort with the costumes for our Evacuee Day. It really was 1940 in the classroom today!

Evacuee Day
1 Oct 2019
Class 4 travelled back in time to 1940 in the midst of World War 2. The air raid siren went off in the classroom intermittently throughout the day, but all the children were kept safe in our class Anderson shelter. From a maths mission from Winston Churchill, to knitting, to poetry and cookery. A fun day was had by all!
Library Visit
30 Sep 2019
This morning, Class 3 and 4 had a wonderful time learning how to use the library and about the services Grantham Library offers. Those who brought their library card were able to borrow and reserve books. For those without a library card a form has been sent home with your child.
The children enjoyed games to help them understand how to find different types of resources and listened to a range of poetry in preparation for National Poetry Day on Thursday.

International Bomber Command Visit
25 Sep 2019
Today Key Stage 2 went back in time. They dressed up, handled artefacts and became detectives to find out about the past. Although it rained for the majority of the day, they faced the elements to look at the memorial at the International Bomber Command Centre. They listened to a story about a medal winning dog and paid their respects, delivering a poppy to one of the fallen. In the exhibition centre they used interactive games to learn about the life of different airmen.
