Bonfire Night Extravaganza! 

Class One learnt about the traditional celebration of Bonfire Night and fireworks. They used different media to create different effects of fireworks and looked at different words to describe the noises made fireworks. Most importantly, they learnt how to keep safe on Bonfire Night.

 

Firework Safety

Class 4 watched a film and identified the hazards and risks of fireworks.

Prickly Visitor

Today we had a visitor on the school playing field. It reminds us that we must be carefully especially on bonfire night.

Kipper’s Toybox

This week, Class One has been reading ‘Kipper’s Toybox’. We have been painting the characters, sewing Mr Snakes and stuffing socks to make Sock Thing.

Golden Book Achievers

Well done to the children who were in the Golden Book today and to those who received certificates.

Museum Exploration

Today KS2 walked to Grantham Museum.  They had a fantastic time interacting with resources from various historical periods.  Some role played weighing using imperial measurements and paying in the shop with old money, while others flew an aircraft or listened to sounds from WW2 using an interactive radio. They all enjoyed dressing up and playing with toys from bygone eras. They voted using a democratic system, wrote questions for Sir Isaac Newton and shared the facts they had discovered with each other.

Football Skills

A glorious day again for our KS2 football session. Today in training the children practised their passing skills.

Bird Feeders

As the weather is turning frosty, Class 4 decided to look after the birds in the school grounds. They used oranges, lard and bird seed.

 

Diwali Celebrations come to Class One!

Class One have learnt about the Hindu Festival Of Diwali by making salt-dough Diva Lamps – decorated with jewels, Rangoli shape patterns and Mhendi hand painting. Happy Diwali!

Handwriting Competition Winners

This term the children have been working hard to improve their handwriting and to present their work neatly. Children carefully copied a poem in their neatest handwriting and have also been encouraged to maintain the same standard in their books
This morning the winners were announced and given two cinema tickets each to enjoy a film of their choice at the local Savoy cinema.
