Dental Health Assembly Talk

Thank you to Claire and Paula from the ‘Dental Health Centre’ in Grantham who taught the children how to look after their teeth this morning. As well as teaching them how to brush their teeth properly, they also explored food and drinks that make teeth happy and sad. Pupils saw the effects of drinking sugary drinks and fruit juice on teeth.
All the children recieved a new toothbrush and toothpaste to clean their teeth with twice a day. Happy Brushing!!

Class 4 Assembly

Class 4 assembly this morning was superb! After sharing fascinating facts about spiders and flies, the children acted out the poem ‘The Spider and the fly’. However their rendition was hampered by members of the audience (their class mates) who kept interrupting the performance by asking questions and making observations.
Thank you, Miss White, for writing the play.The children certainly enjoyed acting it out.

Class 4 Making Figure Sculptures

After creating a wire frame, Class 4 used Modroc to complete their figure sculptures. Next week they will use tissue and glue to add colour.

Golden Book Achievers!

Well done to all the children who were in the Golden Book today and also to those who received a certificate.

Science Club Activities

This week’s science club was all about circuits. We made an LED bulb light up with just lemons – no battery! We also used Snap Circuits and other electrical equipment to light bulbs and operate buzzers. Everyone enjoyed playing with static electricity making patterns on the Thunder Ball.

 

KS2 Learning about Bird Beaks

Yesterday KS2 learnt all about different bird beaks, They performed an investigation to see which beak (probing, scooping, shovelling or grasping) was adapted for each food source.

Chinese New Year Day – Part 2

Yesterday we really enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year celebrations and more about the Chinese culture. We also enjoyed the delicious Chinese lunch and some of us even manged to eat with chopsticks!

Chinese New Year Celebrations

Dudley House took part in Chinese New Year celebrations today. In class they learnt about Chinese customs and rice farming. They enjoyed an authentic Chinese vegetarian meal instead of their normal packed lunch. After that, they played Chinese inspired team games with chop sticks and dragon dances. They also created, rats, lanterns, fans and their own dragon to take home.

Class 4 Animal Soap Carvings

This term Class 4 are learning about sculpture. Today, they developed a new skill, carving. They used a bar of soap to create an animal.
