Class 4 Science Day

Class 4 children were busy little scientists today. First they made bath bombs, testing these and evaluating them for appearance, scent and fizz. They planted carrots, cress and peas and will careful monitor these over the next few weeks. Finally, and most exciting, they made their own lava lamps.

Class 4 Making Hummus & Pitta Bread

Today Class 4 prepared assorted pitta bread and hummus dip. They had a little taste before it was frozen ready for their Greek feast at the end of term.

1st Place at the Grantham Music Festival

Well done to the children in class 3 and 4 who performd two songs at Grantham Music Festival yesterday afternoon. They were awarded first place for their renditions of ‘Let’s go fly a kite’ and ‘Risen’. Congratulations to them all.

Class 1 & 2 Assembly

This morning the children in class 1 and 2 shared some songs and two stories (The Enormous Turnip and Jack and the beanstalk) connected to their topic on plants. They also showed some of the art work that they had created. It was a super assembly.

Grantham Rotary Club Swimarathon

The whole school took part in the Grantham Rotary Club Swimarathon this year and have collected £299.50 for them to distribute to local worthy causes. Well done to everyone for taking part and raising such a good amount.

The children, wearing their yellow swimming caps, can be seen swimming in the first few minutes of the video.

Class 2 Visiting the Council Office to Celebreate Commonwealth Day

The children in Class 2 have been to the council offices today to help Grantham celebrate Commonwealth Day. We listened to a message from the Queen read to us by the Mayor. We also waved flags from different commonwealth countries. Dudley, our school mascot came too. Can you spot him in the pictures? We all received a certificate to acknowledge our participation in the Commonwealth Flag raising ceremony too.

Book Characters from Potatoes

This year the children created book characters out of potatoes as part of their Brain Builder homework for World Book Day. They also shared the story that had inspired them to make their character. The effort and creativity that went into this was amazing and made it very hard to award the four winners.
Thank you so much for all the time and effort that you put into this Brain Builder.

Golden Book Achievers

Congratulations to everyone who was in the Golden Book this morning and also to those who received a silver certificate.

‘Supertato’

To celebrate World Book Day 2020, class one read ‘Supertato’ by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet and made superhero potatoes.

Robin Hood

Today children in class 4 made origami book marks and finished their Robin Hood characters for display.
