Class 2 Summer Day

Class 2 had so much fun today! We began the day making colour wheels and enjoyed seeing the wonderful colours they made when they spun. O showed us all how to spin them, he made a great teacher. We designed t-shirts, investigated if different shapes produced different shaped bubbles and travelled Europe in the sand! We also had lots of fun playing boules, tennis and football.

Class 1 Summer Day

Class 1 have had lots of fun on our ‘Summer Day’. We thought about the sun and made a collage. We explored the water and sand trays, played musical instruments and loved the bubble machine and campsite role play. We finished off with a dash round the playground on the trikes and scooters.

Class 2 Learn About Capacity

Class 2 had a super morning outside in the sun investigating capacity. They used their fantastic fraction knowledge to estimate how many cups it would take to fill different containers and which container would hold the most!

Class 3 Sports Day

It was great to see Class 3 thoroughly enjoying their sports day this afternoon and being such good sports. They took part in seven different races: running, skipping, sack, potato race, dribbling the hockey ball and hurdles before finishing with an obstacle course. Pupils reported that they had an exciting and memorable afternoon.

Class 2 Sports Day

Class 2 also had a super sports day this afternoon. They showed what excellent runners, skippers and jumpers they have become. They also showed that they were skilled at balancing an egg on a spoon and quoit on their head. Well done Class 2.

Class 1 Sports Day

Class 1 have had a super sports day today. They took part in lots of different races and were very proud of the 7 stickers they each awarded.

Class 1 Science

Class 1 did a colourful science experiment today. They made a circle of sweets on their saucer, Mrs Glover added warm water to the center of each saucer and the children predicted what they thought would happen next. We quickly realised that the sugar on the outside of the sweets was mixing with the warm water and creating pretty patterns. Mrs Glover explained that the sugar dissolved.

Class 1 Make Lunch Fit For A Lighthouse Keeper

Class 1 have been enjoying a story about a Lighthouse Keeper called Mr Grinling. Some cheeky gulls kept stealing the delicious lunch, that had been prepared for him by his wife and sent on a pulley from their house to the lighthouse. As part of their Literacy work, the children had been thinking of ways to stop this happening. This morning they have made their own sandwiches, just like Mrs Grinling. They remembered to wash their hands before starting and then were able to choose from a range of fillings, having a go at spreading, filling and cutting. They then enjoyed a bonus breakfast picnic on the carpet.

 

Class 2 How They Have Changed

Class 2 really got a surprise during today’s science lesson. We were talking about how we have changed since we were babies. They came up with some great ideas. But to help them see how they had changed photos of them as babies appeared!!!! The children loved seeing themselves as babies and remembered lots of ways in which they had changed. Mums and Dads had sent the photos in without the children knowing and the children loved this surprise.

 

Class 3 Tie Dye

Yesterday Class 3 did some tie dyeing. Today the dyed fabric is drying in the sun. Class 3 are very happy with the colourful rainbow they have created!
