Join us at 8:50 tomorrow morning for Class 4’s assembly about explorers and journeys, along with Paul’s journey to Rome.

This afternoon the children have been carrying out field work near our local river. First they tested the flow of the river in different places, before then carrying out field sketches from the river bank. Finally they observed, drew and tried to identify the different creatures they found in their river sample, before they were carefully returned to the river.

Here are the results from Class 4’s carnation investigation. They have learnt that the movement of water in plants is driven by a process called transpiration. This is where water evaporating from the leaves of a plant causes the plant to draw up more water through the stem via capillary action.

The children in Class 4 have entered a competition organised by the Bible Society to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee. The children researched different verses in the bible, that talked about service. We then discussed our different ideas, voting on our final decision. We then illustrated the verse using a picture.

Class 1 have loved exploring the story of Little Red Riding Hood.

Today we have been coding games using Scratch.

This morning, members of the school council presented Pastor Kryriacou with a cheque for £95.30, that the whole school had raised to help those affected by the war in Ukraine. A couple of pastors from the North England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists have traveled to the area this week and our donation will be used to buy essentials supplies for the people in Ukraine. A big thank you to the school council for organising this, as you care what happens to others.

Class 2 has been learning about changes in materials. Exploring how chocolate melts when it is warm and sets again when it cools.
