Thank you to Class 3 for sharing the story of ‘The Great Wall’ in their class assembly today. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you also for telling us about what you have been learning in class – you have been busy.

Mrs. Sellars, was honoured with an award from Aspire People for her exceptional contributions to our school in Assembly yesterday.
Mrs. Sellars was acknowledged for the incredible dedication and care she brings to our pupils every day. Her surprise and delight were evident, and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as part of our Dudley House School family.
Let’s give a huge round of applause to Mrs. Sellars for her well-deserved recognition!

Class 1 and Class 2 enjoyed a lovely Nature Walk along the riverbank this week. They used their senses to identify the signs of Autumn around them and they saw lots of beautiful things, including an otter!
Back in the classroom, they examined the leaves they had collected before using them in printing and collage work. Several members of the public commented on their excellent behaviour and smart uniforms during the walk – well done Class 1 and Class 2!

This term Class 4 were asked to produce a Brain Builder homework about Ancient Egypt. They were given suggestions but were able to interpret the brief anyway they wished.
We had a wonderful show and tell this morning to include models, maps, informative graphics, games and even a musical composition.

Class 3 enjoyed participating in a variety of activities at Kesteven Rugby Club yesterday. They were extending their rugby skills with support from the School Games organiser Terry Plumb. The children worked really well as a team, listened carefully to instructions, tried their best and supported each other as well as children from another school. It was lovely to see them enjoying being active outdoors in the sunshine and having fun.

This morning, the children in Dudley House School enjoyed celebrating and thanking God for the harvest. As well as sharing facts about bread, they also retold the story of the Little Red Hen through drama and songs. The story emphasised this terms worship theme of service, by lending a hand and sharing with others.
Afterwards, the Year 6 children enjoyed visiting elderly people within the community and giving them a cyclamen plant to cheer their day. Some of the children were nervous at first but were soon keen to present the gift and chat to the recipients. As one grateful lady shared as the children were leaving – ‘Their visit was just what I needed today – it has made my day.’
What little act of kindness could you do for someone today?

Today is National TA Day. All of our staff are incredibly valued team members, but since today is her day, we would like to celebrate Mrs Sellars for everything she does for all of us.
Not only is she the loveliest human being ever, but she steps up to the plate and supports every single member of staff. Every morning she is selfless and loves us by making each one of us a hot drink. She then makes a huge difference to every single child as a TA, lunchtime supervisor, 1 to 1 and small group tutor and she runs two after school care clubs every single week. And if that is not enough, she also supports the School Council and is Clerk to the Board of Governors. Mrs Sellars is interstellar, out of this world and irreplaceable and we’d like to say thank you.
