On Monday Art Club painted with Plasticine creating pictures of cartoon characters, an exploding volcano, the world, sea life and the trenches in WW1.

Early Years Children Help Farmer Duck

On Friday our Early Years children had great fun making their own tractor to help Farmer Duck with all his work. On Monday the other children used their imagination to embark on all kinds of adventures.

Friday Club Make Dough

Today in Friday club, the children enjoyed making their own dough before shaping it into a design of their choice. It must have tasted good, as they were already tucking into it as they went home.

School Visit to St Wulfram’s

This morning the children were fascinated to see stunning art work Gaia by renowned artist Luke Jerram hanging in St Wulfram’s Church. As well as developing their geographical knowledge of the Earth, the children also developed their understanding of how important it is that we care for God’s wonderful world. The children also enjoyed exploring the church and were quick to identify the Bible stories depicted in the stained glass windows.

Class 4 Life as an Evacuee

Today Class 4 welcomed some evacuees for the day. They enjoyed baking a wartime cake, writing letters home, reading Goodnight Mr Tom and making model aeroplanes. Of course, some of the time was also spent in the air raid shelter as the siren went off frequently throughout the day. Thank you to all the children and parents who put in so much effort with costumes, wartime lunches and fantastic Brain Builder homework – Anderson shelters.

Class 3 Investigate Magnets

In Science today, Class 3 enjoyed investigating which objects were attracted to a bar magnet. They were surprised at some of their findings. They discovered that many things made from metal were magnetic, but not all.

Class 4 Science

Class 4 had a fun and informative science session today. They dissected barn owl pellets to discover the owl’s diet. They were amazed to find such a wide variety of bones and were able to identify the creatures by using the chart provided.

Class 3 National Fitness Day

For National Fitness Day, Class 3 read and performed movement poems to the rest of the class in the lovely September sunshine. We then created our own and performed it in our groups.

After worship this morning, all the children joined in a variety of Activate exercises as part of National Fitness Day.

Class 4 Trace Fossils

Today Class 4 were learning about trace fossils (prints left by extinct animals in swamp land and over many years have turned to stone). They made creatures changing only one thing to test whether they would sink in our wallpaper paste swamp. Some changed foot size, some by weight and others leg length.
