Friday Club

In Friday Club we have been having lots of fun over the last couple of weeks, creating amazing things.

Children In Need

Today we raised funds for Children In Need and the children especially liked giving money for cookies and cakes which they then decorated. Thank you to the School Council for organising and hosting this event. They also organised a competition and it was lovely to see all the amazing Pudsey Bandana designs that the children had created. Well done A for your winning design.

Tag Rugby Festival

Class 3 had a wonderful time this afternoon developing their rugby skills at the Tag Rugby Festival at Kesteven Rugby Club. It was lovely to see them all actively involved and their skills improving as the afternoon wore on.

Class 2 Explore the UK

Class 2 enjoyed learning about the United Kingdom’s countries and capital cities this week. They also enjoyed exploring the seasons and weather. They even delivered their own weather report.

Class 4 Design & Technology

The pupils in Class 4 have been making catapults as part of our Design and Technology lessons about levers. As you can imagine we have had great fun, making and testing them out.

Class 4 Geography Day

For geography day, Class 4 focused on mapwork. They consolidated their knowledge of OS map symbols, learnt how to write 4 and 6 figure grid references and created their own model maps before drawing these using appropriate scale and symbols. Earlier in the term they began a unit about rivers, painting river systems to label with the correct terminology.

Class 3 Geography Day

Today Class 3 had a fantastic time learning lots for Geography Day. In the morning, we explored cities and regions of the UK using Atlases. In the afternoon, we found out about Europe through playing a special board game and making Chatterboxes. We even sorted European landmarks into whether they had human or physical characteristics.

Class 3 in the Stone Age

Today, Class 3 went back to the Stone Age. We foraged for food and hunted prehistoric animals. We worked well as a team, even though we didn’t realise this was what Mrs Littler was looking for in today’s lesson. But sadly, just like in the Stone Age, poisonous food and cruel winters meant that not all of us survived!

Class 3 Investigate Rocks

Today Class 3 carried out four different investigations to test whether rocks were hard, waterproof, heavy or reacted to vinegar. They tested different types of rocks and recorded what they observed e.g. “It crumbled like black pepper.” They then explained what they found out. Well done Class 3. Super investigating!!
