Today in PE, class 3 chose a machine of their choice and performed a dance based on the workings of it. This linked to our explanation topic in English, as this morning they were designing their own flying contraptions ready to write an explanation text of their own. Their performances were imaginative and interesting – well done everyone!

Class 4 Art
21 Jan 2022
The children in class 4 have drawn Medieval Castles in the possible style of Camelot in the legend of King Arthur. They practiced their drawing skills by creating tone and texture using a pencil. They also learnt about reflections, shadows and the direction of sunlight. They then went on to create these stunning pictures of a castle. Thank you Miss White for sharing your artistic skills with your class.
Class 3 Investigate Liquids and Teeth
17 Jan 2022
Class 3 have been investigating whether liquids affect our teeth. Last week they set up their investigation using raw eggs to represent teeth and on Friday and today they observed what had happened and recorded their results. There was no change in the egg in water and milk but they saw that the eggs in tea and coke had turned quite a dark brown colour. The one in tea was the most stained. They observed that the egg placed in orange juice had some of its shell starting to dissolve. What was most amazing was that the egg in vinegar had expanded in size and was now rubbery and bounced! It had no hard shell left!
