World Book Day

We celebrated World Book Day today. Pupils had created a prop from a book of their choice. We enjoyed looking at their creations and listening to them tell us all about the book.Well done everyone for all the hard work that you put into completing this challenge.

Class 4 Art

Class 4 used pastels to create rainforest animal images to compliment their reading of The Explorer by Kate Rundall.

Class 4 Mardi Gras

In French Class 4 learnt about the Mardi Gras festival. They made masks and learnt new vocabulary to describe the event.

Class 4 Skipping Challenge

All the children have been busy practicing their skipping skills this week so that they could take part in the Virtual Skipping Challenge. In KS2 they had to perform 5 different skipping techniques – single bounce, double bounce, running skip, slalom and speed skipping. They found Dan the Skipping Man’s demonstrations very useful.

Nursery have enjoyed exploring different activities this morning.

Class 2 Parts of the Body

Class 2 has been learning about their bodies, labeling the different parts and exploring skeletons.

Gardening Treats

The children were very curious to know what was in the big box that had arrived this morning. Once opened they discovered a range of gardening tools, that had been purchased with the Morrison’s Let’s Grow vouchers, that they are looking forward to using in the school garden. Thank you to everyone who collected the vouchers for us.

Class 4 Investigate Paper

Today Class 4 made recycled paper. In science this term, the class are performing investigations linked to the sinking of the Titanic and how artifacts from the ship survived in the ocean. The class set up an investigation using different paper types and different drawing implements to see which messages would survive a day submerged in salt water. Will their messages be legible and can the paper be conserved?

Class 2 Keep Clean and Healthy

Today class 2 have been exploring how to keep clean and healthy. Reception and Nursery children practiced on the dolls.

Class 3 Viking Houses

Yesterday class 3 beavered away to construct their own Viking houses, that they added to their Viking settlement this morning.
