Class 4 Science

In science Class 4 are learning about the properties of different materials. Today they made salt solutions until the water was saturated. As a class we evaporated the solution to separate the salt from the water proving this was a reversible change. They added yeast to water and bicarbonate of soda to vinegar and watched a gas being formed proving that these changes are irreversible. Their third challenge was to make an emulsion with water and oil. They used fairy liquid, egg yolk and gum Arabic and observed the how the oil and water behaved when each substance was added.

End of Year Celebration

This morning children received certificates and trophies for all the amazing things that they had achieved this year. As well as saying good bye and wishing those moving on all the very best, we also enjoyed a lovely musical recital from the children have been having lessons. We were very impressed at how much they have improved this year. Well done everyone.

Agnes’ Day

Class 4 enjoyed a day packed with activities Agnes had chosen to remember her time at Dudley House. The day started with making pizza dough, then gymnastics on the large apparatus before selecting toppings and making pizzas to be eaten at lunch. The afternoon was filled with craft activities such as making chess pieces out of clay and making humming birds using the paper art form of origami modelling. A great day was had by all.
