Mother’s Day Tea

Class 4 enjoyed hosting a Mother’s Day tea today, with the help of decorations made by class 3.

Thank you to all the mums, grandmas, friends and dads who came along to our Mother’s Day Tea, making it an enjoyable, successful afternoon.

Guide dog visit

Class 1 had a visit from a guide dog today. The children learnt about how guide dogs are trained and how they work. They were told how a guide dog is looked after. He is very clever. The guide dog who visited us can memorise a journey, get on and off buses, visit football matches, go to the shops and visit restaurants. His behaviour was brilliant as he waited for his owner to talk to us.

Bird Box Arrivals

There was great excitement in class 4 today, when the children noticed a pair of blue tits investigating our bird box. We have a camera inside the box and were able to look at the blue tits on the interactive whiteboard in the classroom. We look forward to seeing if they start nesting.

Coming Soon

Dudley House are compiling a miniature art exhibition, inspired by famous artists. The children have had to have an incredibly steady hand as their canvas was only 7cm square. The finished works will be ready for viewing in the reception next week. How well do you know famous artists’ styles? There’s also a quiz that will be up on the board in reception. Please sign the visitor’s book when you’ve seen it, I’m sure the children would love to hear your comments.

Congratulations to the children in the Golden Book today. The class one child was chosen for her excellent storytelling. Our year 3 child was chosen for his willingness to step up and swim against year 6 in the swimming gala last week. Our year 4 child was chosen for her excellent presentation of her work. Our year 6 child was chosen for his descriptive writing inspired by our jungle computer suite.

Jungle inspiring creativity

Our jungle computer suite has been inspiring creative writing.

What’s behind the door?

The children in class 4 have been entering their classroom through the wardrobe and have been learning in Narnia.

Park inspires art work

Class 2 and 3 have been studying artwork by Andy Goldsworthy. After a visit to the park and collecting natural materials, they worked in groups to create their own art. While at the park, we also used our senses to record our surroundings and were very excited when we saw a kingfisher.

Pancake Fun

Today, all the children enjoyed taking part in pancake races. Well done to the Kingfisher team, who scored the most points.
