Picture Book Creators
28 Mar 2017
Since the beginning of the Spring Term, those who have attended Book Club on Tuesday evenings, have been working towards creating their own picture book to enter into the Reading Zone’s annual competition. Author and illustrator Neal Layton (illustrator of That Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown by Cressida Cowell) will select the winning entries across three Categories, which include: Young Creators (four to six years); Primary (seven years plus) and Secondary (11 years plus). The winners will be announced on www.ReadingZone.com in June. Today children shared a copy of their creations with the rest of the school. We couldn’t decide on a favourite!
Spring Walk
28 Mar 2017
The Nursery and Reception children have been on a walk to our local park looking for signs of Spring. We saw some beautiful flowers and blossom on the trees. We also watched some birds collecting twigs for making their nests. When we returned to the classroom we had a go at making our own nests and making trees with blossom on them. Here are some of the photographs of our walk.
Golden Book Achievers
27 Mar 2017
Congratulations to the children in the Golden Book this week. Our nursery child has shown super listening and concentration skills in phonics, our reception child was chosen for making fantastic progress in swimming, two children from class 3 were chosen for their excellent Easter story writing and our year 6 child was chosen for putting extra effort into her learning in maths and being more confident to answer questions in class.
Congratulations also to the children who were awarded certificates in this morning’s assembly.
