Bags for Life

We’ve been thinking about reducing plastic pollution.  One way to help our environment is to promote the use of a ‘Bag for Life’. Today we’ve entered a competition to design a ‘Bag for Life’ for Aldi that promotes eating fresh fruit and vegetables.  Have a look at our designs.

Shelter Building

Today, in their OAA session, KS2 worked as a team to create a shelter for their group, using materials provided, under a timescale of 15 minutes. I’m not sure whether they would want to sleep in them outdoors, but they managed the task successfully.

Golden Book Acheivers

Congratulation to the children whose learning was celebrated in our assembly, today.

Ant Farm

Today, Key Stage 2 have set up an ant farm in their playhouse. They have been busy trying to entice ants into their traps so they can place a small colony into their equipment. Should we have success, we will post pictures of the ant tunnels later in the term.

Daily Mile

We’ve joined the Daily Mile movement!

All of the Dudley House School family are participating in the Daily Mile initiative, as advertised recently on ITV. Every day, children and staff will run or walk for 15 minutes. Our aim is to increase fitness levels, improve levels of concentration and also to nurture a healthy lifestyle.

As you can see from the photographs, there are lots of smiles, so it appears that everyone is enjoying themselves too!

Book Prize

In assembly today, the children were shown the new books that were bought with our £500 Bronze Award Prize, for our World Book Day display. All children in KS2, will be bringing home one of the new books to read over the holiday.

Picture Book Creators

Children who attended the Picture Book after school club wrote and illustrated their own picture story book which they read out during assembly. The other children were impressed with the super stories that had been written and the wonderful illustrations they had drawn, painted and used other media to create. Children were presented with copies of their book, as the original books have been sent off to The Reading Zone for a World Book Day competition.

Golden Book Achievers

Well done to all those children who were in the Golden Book this morning and to those children who were presented with award and full attendance certificates in this morning’s assembly.
