Star of the Week

Our star of the week was award for the time and effort put into the Key Stage 2 glass recycling homework. Recycled glass was used to create a house number plaque.

Painting in the Park

The sun shone as Key Stage 2 walked to Wyndham Park, yesterday afternoon, for their final painting session of the term. After studying a range of techniques used by famous artists, they used watercolour to create master pieces of their own. All of their paintings are displayed in the computer suite – do come and have a look!

Signs of Spring

Children in Class 1 and 2 enjoyed walking to the park, looking for evidence that spring has finally arrived. They also had good fun playing in the play park together.

KS2 Assembly

Parents and pupils were entertained with poetry and song as children recounted their learning in Science and French.  They also performed a play highlighting the importance of caring for God’s creatures, linking this to their work on environmental issues this term.

Languages Day

All the children were engaged in a variety of practical activities to promote the learning of Latvian, Hungarian, German and Dutch, supported by several of our bilingual parents. Mrs Brown started the afternoon by teaching everyone how to sign  the song, ‘Colours of the Rainbow’ using sign language, after which children gathered in small teams to complete 4 activities.

The afternoon was concluded with a game where children were able to show off their learning.

The school was very grateful to all the bilingual parents who gave up their time to support the learning of other languages this term.

Class 1 Assembly

For those who managed to attend Nursery and Reception’s recent assembly, it was evident that they have all grown in confidence throughout the year.  The audience were treated to the retelling of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’, to songs and to pupils showcasing their learning about emotions.

Sacrewell Farm Visit

Children in Class 1 had a wonderful day at Sacrewell Farm today. The weather was very pleasant and children had the opportunity to engage with a variety of farm animals at close quarters. It appears the star of the show was the proud peacock, who displayed its tail feathers for the class several times throughout the day!
