Children in Oak class have been investigationg planet sizes and their comparative distances from the Sun. They used a peppercorn to represent Mercury and a watermelon as the gas giant Jupiter. They used a trundle wheel to measure comparative distances from the Sun. If Mercury was just 1 metre from the sun, then Neptune was more than 70 metres away.
