Spring at Easton Walled Gardens

Children in Birch class founds lots of signs of Spring when they visited Easton Walled Gardens, this afternoon. They enjoyed looking around the gardens and finding out lots of amazing information from Ollie, the Head Gardner. Thank you for a very informative and fascinating visit.

Lambing Time

The nursery and reception children in Hazel class have had an enjoyable morning visiting Great Wood Farm. We saw how the farmer looked after the sheep. We saw a pair of lambs being born, bottle fed a cade lamb as well as using real sheep wool to make a picture. We named the cade lamb Hazel after our class. We had amazing time. Thank you Kate, for looking after us so well.

Grantham Music Festival Winners

Congratulations to the children who sang at Grantham Music Festival this afternoon. Another beautiful singing performance that gained them first place.
We were also delighted to learn that they won the TG Read Shield in the primary and secondary small choir class (12 or less singers).
Well done to everyone for a wonderful achievement.

Fly ther Flag for Commonwealth

This morning, Birch Class were invited to participate in the Fly the Flag for the Commonwealth ceremony. It was a very cold day, but the children were excellent and were complemented on their behaviour. They particularly enjoyed the food!

Winning Cake Design

Well done to Steven for his winning cake design.

Congratulations to Oak class for working collaboratively to turn Steven’s cake design into a wonderful looking cake! I am sure that you will agree they did a fantastic job.

Ready Set Bake

Oak Class would like to say a massive thank you to our two volunteers today.  Without you, we wouldn’t have developed our baking skills.  In the morning, we tried our hand at colouring icing and then used piping bag with nozzles to experiment with decorating technique.  We also coloured fondant icing and practised modelling with this.  Later in the morning, some of the class made cakes by hand and others used a mixer.  We coloured the cake mix too!  Once the cakes were cooled, we created our masterpiece by using a variety of decorating techniques.

Maths Medal Winners

Gold, silver and bronze medals were presented in assembly today to the children who gained the highest number of points in the Maths Challenge on Wednesday. Well done to all of them.
Certificates were also presented to all the children who took part in the different maths activities on World Maths Day.

Book Cake Designs

Thank you to everyone for the time and effort you have put into designing a cake based on a book for Oak Class to make next week. It was so difficult to judge. The winning design will be on display at parents’ evening next week and announced to the children tomorrow. They were all fantastic ideas and we wish we could make everyone!
