Sticky Nests

Children had a sticky time in ‘Spring Activities’ club tonight soaking wool with gloopy glue and then carefully positioning it over a bowl to create their own nests.
I wonder what they will make to put in it next week?

Pancake Races

The children had fun taking part in pancake races today, both individually and as a team relay.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and to Dragonfly who were the overall winners.

Winning Design

Some of the children collaboratively designed the cover for this year’s Colsterworth Performing Arts Festival, that starts tomorrow. This morning Julia Kerby (Chair of the Festival) presented them with the original art work in a frame along with the programme depicting their design and a prize. They were very proud and shared their prize with the whole school.

Golden Book Achievers

Well done to everyone who was in the Golden Book today and our ‘Star of the week’. We enjoyed seeing some of the things they had made in class and for homework.
Congratulations also to the children who received their bronze and silver certificates this morning.

Viking Assembly

Yesterday, the children in class 3 presented a play in which they shared fascinating facts they had learnt about Viking life. They also told us about the different teeth we have and taught us how to care for them. They sang in French, a song about holidaying in France and shared some of their other learning from this term. It was a real treat.

Golden Book Achievers!

Congratulations to all the children who were in the Golden Book today. Well done also to those children who received their silver and gold certificates.

Dental Health Assembly Talk

Thank you to Claire and Paula from the ‘Dental Health Centre’ in Grantham who taught the children how to look after their teeth this morning. As well as teaching them how to brush their teeth properly, they also explored food and drinks that make teeth happy and sad. Pupils saw the effects of drinking sugary drinks and fruit juice on teeth.
All the children recieved a new toothbrush and toothpaste to clean their teeth with twice a day. Happy Brushing!!

Class 4 Assembly

Class 4 assembly this morning was superb! After sharing fascinating facts about spiders and flies, the children acted out the poem ‘The Spider and the fly’. However their rendition was hampered by members of the audience (their class mates) who kept interrupting the performance by asking questions and making observations.
Thank you, Miss White, for writing the play. The children certainly enjoyed acting it out.
