The boys in Class 1 were very excited to find their own bags of playdough this morning. They each had a set of tool and cutters and had lots of fun exploring what they could make . This is great for developing their fine motor skills and pincer grip for pencil holding.

The children in Class 1 are learning about Noah and the Ark. We’ve talked a lot about the rain in the story and tried to think about 40 days and 40 nights of rain. Today, as it was raining in Grantham, we made our own rain sticks so we even had the sound of rain indoors!

We all tried our best at our sports day this afternoon. We took part in a variety of races such as running, egg and spoon, hurdles, skipping, chair crawl, dribbling a ball, obstacle course, etc.
We collected lots of points for our house teams.
Ladybird came 3rd, Grasshopper 2nd and Dragonfly were the winners.

At our sports day this afternoon, as well as collecting points for our house teams, we collected individual points. The three highest scores from each class were awarded bronze, silver and gold medals.
Well done to everyone for trying their best.

Albrecht Dürer was a German artist. In class 4, children looked at his famous pen and ink drawing on blue paper called ‘Praying Hands’ created in 1508. The class used magnifying classes and Ipads to capture photos of their hands before they sketched them. I think you’ll agree, they did a great job.

Today class 4 used a variety of instruments to create their own musical compositions. They also wrote the correct notation on a stave and used a mixture of minims, crochets and semibreves.
