Oak Class Shipwrecked!

On Monday, Oak Class began their R.E. lesson by studying the Bible verse, Isaiah 25:9.  They thought about the meaning of salvation.  After learning about a real life shipwreck disaster, the Concordia, they simulated a shipwreck of their own. They had two minutes to put on their life jacket, and collect three useful items from around the classroom.  As a team, they formulated a survival plan.

All about me in Hazel Class

The Nursery and reception children in Hazel class are learning ‘All about me’.

They have been drawing and painting their faces and also used different vegetables to make faces on pizza. They had great fun completing the activity and as you can see were very creative.

God made us unique

In Birch Class, we used the books, Only One You, and You Be You, to talk about how God made us all unique and gave us different gifts. The children designed and painted their own unique pebble.

Bible Presentations

Today, children in KS2 were given their own Bible and marked their first promise.

Oak Class saves eggs

This term Oak Class are learning about forces.  In science this week, they thought about the effects of gravity.  In pairs they completed the egg challenge – protecting a raw egg from cracking from a two metre drop.  They were given a budget, imaginary money and asked to shop for resources set out in the classroom. Surprisingly, when tested, two out of three eggs were protected! Well done Oaks!

KS2 Visit to Grantham Museum

Well done to the children of class one, who shared their learning with us, in their assembly, this morning, and showed us their amazing artwork.

Mini Olympics

Class 3 and the young ambassadors managed to keep their cool at the 10th Anniversary of the Mini Olympics at the Meres Stadium today. The celebrations started with the arrival of sky divers to squeals of glee from the children. They had the opportunity to run relay races, practise netball shooting, perfect their hockey skills, learn a dance with the help of the Royal Opera House and join in with some team building games.
