In addition to new book purchases and spending time in our school library, class 2, 3 and 4 braved the damp weather to visit Grantham Library today.
Led by two experienced librarians, they were given a variety of useful information. The tour made the children aware of the many services the library can provide, including computer use, audio books, a reference section, DVDs for hire and over 50,000 books to borrow.
They were also informed of the online service Lincolnshire libraries offer (click to visit their website).
The children were given the opportunity to join the library and borrow their first book – a milestone in nurturing avid readers. It was lovely to see the younger children engage with this session, reading independently and showing respect to members of the public.
