Birch Class (Year 1 & 2)
Welcome to Birch Class. We are a class of year 1 and year 2 children, who are taught by Mrs Harding and Mrs Johnson.
This term, we are learning all about who we are and where our food comes from. We will also be looking at maps to find out where we are in the world. We will think about changes and how we have grown from babies; identifying the things we can do now that we could not do when we were smaller. We will learn about our bodies and senses and how we use them. We will visit a farm to learn where our food comes from, and we will bake some bread. In our art lessons, we will be learning to weave. We will create gift bags from paper, wall hangings from wool and a farm fence from willow. In computing, we will be learning how to keep ourselves safe when playing and communicating through technology.
PE Days: Monday and Thursday.
Swimming: Friday morning.
Reading: Children read individually at least twice a week as well as guided reading sessions. Please write in your child’s diary so that we can see that they have read. Thank you.
